The artist collective U5 works with a wide range of media: colored plastic shapes combine to form model-like structures and sculptures, while exuberant architectural constructions oscillate between the natural and the artificial. Video works and live stream images, which are in a constant process of becoming, overlay the physical work. These layers come together as installations that originate in the fascination for various materials. U5 practices different forms of collaboration that challenge traditions of individual authorship.
U5 is a Zurich-based artist collective from Austria, Germany and Switzerland, founded in 2007. The collective graduated from Zurich University of the Arts in 2011. U5 took part in numerous group exhibitions in Switzerland, Germany, UAE and Italy. The collective's work was also exhibited in several solo shows, including Kunstmuseum Thun (CH, 2014) and Kunsthalle Arbon (CH, 2014).
